Lower Back Exercises - To Reduce Lower Back Pain

Lower back exercises will help reduce and relieve lower back pain. Your lower back actually has a number of small muscles which help stabilize your spine and many of us will experience lower back pain at one time or another. Tightness or pain in your lower back normally comes from sitting too much.

Working your lower back and your abs will strengthen this area of your back. Before you start doing lower back exercises you may want to consult with your doctor should your lower back pain be severe.

In order to achieve a strong, flexible and pain free healthy back, you must work your abs as it is these muscles that support your lower back. By working your abs and keeping them strong as well as balancing with lower back exercises is key in eliminating back pain.

One of the best ways to relieve lower back pain is to stretch. This will develop flexibility in your spine and creates a condition so the back can heal. Stretching is one of the most important lower back exercises you can perform that will ensure your back stays healthy and strong. Some lower back exercises include, back extensions with and without an exercise ball, and reverse hyper extension using the exercise ball, good mornings and dead lifts. If using weights with lower back exercises use only enough that still allows you to complete your sets. You should also be sure to warm up using a cardio exercise. This will get the blood pumping through your body and it less stressful when doing lower back exercises.

Lower back exercises as with any exercise should be taken in moderation. Start by warming up and only increase as your flexibility and strength build.
